The Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), has ruled in connection with the shading threshold row that marred the election protest filed by former Senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr against Vice President Leni Robredo.
Marcos has been pushing for a 50-percent shading threshold while Robredo said it should be 25 percent.
In a resolution dated September 18, the PET said the 50-percent threshold "was no longer applied" in the 2016 elections and noted that a "new threshold" had been applied instead.
Robredo claimed victory with the PET ruling, while Marcos' camp said Robredo and her lawyers are "twisting" the ruling to suit their narrative.
