To run or not to run? Mocha says it depends on Facebook comments

Whether or not resigned Assistant Communications Secretary Mocha Uson will seek an elective post in 2019 will depend on her supporters' comments on Facebook.

"Let the people decide. Mga kababayan naman natin nasa Facebook na, malalaman natin 'yung sentimyento nila doon," Mocha told reporters after announcing her resignation during a budget hearing at the Senate on Wednesday.

"Kung ano po ang mababasa kong comments sa Facebook, kung ano po ang sasabihin ng supporters doon, dun ko titignan."

Mocha said she resigned as a "sacrifice" in hopes that the proposed P1-billion budget of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) for next year will be immediately approved by Congress.

A former entertainer, Mocha accused "leftist" lawmakers of delaying the approval of PCOO's budget as a way to get to her.

"Tila mayroon pong mga kongresista na iniipit ang budget ng PCOO. Ito pong mga makakaliwang kongresista, galit na galit po sa akin," she told senators during the day's budget hearing. —KBK, GMA News
