Evangelist Apollo Quiboloy, leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ Name Above Every Name sect,  denied allegations he was running a "child sex ring" in Hawaii.

According to a Friday.report on GMA News TV program "State of the Nation with Jessica Soho", a former member Quiboloy's sect identified as Kristina Angeles had filed a case at a Hawaii court accusing the evangelist of sexually abusing her when she was just a minor.

In a video posted online, Quiboloy not only denied the allegations, but complained that the allegation also violated "the whole seven-million Kingdom Nation that I lead."

A Hawaii-based news agency reported earlier this year that Quiboloy and six others were detained in Honolulu after US customs agents found $350,000 and rifle parts inside a private plane.

Quiboloy, who calls himself the "Appointed Son of God," was a long-time supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte. — Margaret Claire Layug/DVM, GMA News
