The party-list group Anti-Crime and Terrorism through Community Involvement and Support (ACT-CIS) on Monday filed its candidacy for the 2019 national and local elections.

ACT-CIS first nominee Eric Go Yap emphasized that the party-list wants to strengthen laws against criminality.

"Kung tayo ay papalarin, bibigyan natin ng pangil ang batas kontra kriminalidad. Susuportahan din natin ang anti-drug war, ang anti-crime war ni President Duterte," Yap told reporters.

Yap also said ACT-CIS would support death penalty in order to curb heinous crimes: "Pabor po tayo sa death penalty sa mga heinous crimes."

Meanwhile, TV anchor Erwin Tulfo was present during the filing as he expressed support to the partylist group.

Tulfo said he would not run for any position this coming election, adding that he and his brother Raffy might run in 2022.

"Board of directors lang kami ni Tol Raffy, pero everything may mga laws we talk about it. Decision ng board 'yun na di muna kami tatakbo ni Tol Raffy either sa Senate or Congress," Tulfo said. —Anna Felicia Bajo/NB, GMA News
