Sandiganbayan ruling on Bong Revilla's plunder case

The Sandiganbayan has found former Senator Ramon Bong Revilla Jr. not guilty of plunder in connection with the multi-billion peso pork barrel scam.

The same verdict, however, does not extend to Revilla's co-accused, businesswoman Janet Lim Napoles and his former chief of staff Richard Cambe, who were both found guilty and sentenced to reclusion perpetua by the anti-graft court.

Napoles and Cambe were also ordered to "solidarily" return P124 million to the government.

Revilla has been accused of amassing P224.5 million worth of ill-gotten wealth by channeling his Priority Development Assistant Fund, or pork barrel, to bogus foundations linked to Napoles from 2006 to 2010. —KBK, GMA News
