Faeldon on result of son's drug test: I'd be shocked if it turned positive
Bureau of Corrections chief Nicanor Faeldon Sr. on Saturday said he knew that his son Nicarnor Jr. would test negative for drugs, adding that he had a good sleep while the investigation process was ongoing.
"Alam ko naman na kahit pagsisigarilyo hindi niya ginagawa. Wala siyang bisyo. But, all along I was more interested in allowing the investigation process to take its course. Ayaw kong makialam," said Faeldon in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.
Authorities on Friday arrested Nicanor Faeldon Jr. during a raid on a suspected drug den in Naga City.
Police said they conducted the raid on a house in Barangay Mabolo at about 5 a.m., and among those arrested was Faeldon's son, who was set to undergo drug test as a matter of procedure.
Faeldon, however, said he was confident his son would have no problems with the drug test.
But he explained why his son was there at the house police raided on suspicion that it was a drug den.
"As far as his presence there is concerned, I make it clear that kaya siya nandoon dahil inilipat ko siya, at doon na siya nag-aaral sa Naga City."
He said that his son's girlfriend is the eldest daughter of the suspect targeted by the raid.
"Anak na panganay ng suspek ay girlfriend ng anak ko. My assumption is that he was there kasi girlfriend nga niya ang may-ari ng bahay."
Besides, he said his son has no vice. "I know him na hindi naman siya nagsisigarilyo ever since. So it will shock me if he turns out positive for drugs. Knowing him, he is very, very quiet. Walang barkada, in fact, nakatutok siya doon sa buhay niya doon sa kaniyang girlfriend.
Moreover, he said that his son and his girlfriend have been out of school for four years, and that lately the couple decided to go back to school.
He said He allowed his son to transfer to Naga City last May to continue his studies together with his girlfriend.
Asked about his reaction to those who don't believe in the result of the drug test, Faeldon said, "I know that I am a controversial person. So, may mga taong ayaw sa 'yo at meron ding gusto sa yo. I don't care what they say. I just allow the process to take its course. I cannot please everybody."
Nicanor Faeldon Jr., Allan Valdez, and Manuel Nebres were arrested and are facing charges as they were in the premises when the police conducted the search at the Lanuzo residence and found illegal drugs. —LBG, GMA News
