Duterte, former aide and Senate bet Go visit Iglesia ni Cristo leader

President Rodrigo Duterte and former Special Assistant to the President Christopher "Bong" Go recently paid a visit to Iglesia ni Cristo executive minister Eduardo Manalo.

Malacañang on Wednesday released photos of the visit which took place at the INC Central Temple in Quezon City on December 14.

“Nag-greet lang po ng belated happy birthday and short kumustahan,” Go said in a text message when sought for details about the meeting with Manalo.

The INC leader, who turned 63 on October 31, was appointed by Duterte as his special envoy for overseas Filipino concerns in February.

Duterte received the backing of the INC, the only religious organization in the Philippines proved to vote as a bloc during elections, when he ran and won the presidential election in May 2016.

Go is running for senator in the 2019 elections. —NB/BM, GMA News
