Arroyo brushes off rumors involving economic managers

House Speaker Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Friday said she is unfazed by a supposed attempt to unseat her involving the Duterte administration’s officials.

In a chance interview in Porac, Pampanga, reporters asked Arroyo to comment on reports saying the administration's "economic managers" have tried to oust her from the speakership.

The House Speaker replied: "You know, reports, reports, reports, those are all rumors. So why spend so much time and emotion on them?”

GMA News Online is contacting Budget Secretary Benjamin Diokno for comment as of posting time.

Diokno had earlier remarked that he hoped for a "friendlier" set of lawmakers to be elected in the May 2019 midterms elections. —Margaret Claire Layug/KG, GMA News
