Albayalde’s Christmas wish: Improve service, professionalism of PNP

Philippine National Police chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on Monday said his only wish for Christmas would be the improvements in the public service and professionalism of the PNP.

"'Yung wish ko lang, if course, 'yung pagseserbisyo ko, I hope we can attain peace and security dito sa ating bansa," Albayalde said in a report by GMA News' James Agustin on Unang Balita on Tuesday.

"I wish ma-improve pa namin 'yung level ng pagsisilbi sa ating mga kababayan and of course 'yung level of professionalism and discipline in our organization," he added.

Albayalde led the Misa de Gallo, or midnight mass, at the St. Joseph Chapel inside Camp Crame.

During his message, Albayalde said the PNP should be guided by the same virtues—"faith, hope, and love"—taught by Jesus Christ as they look forward to the New Year.

He also urged police personnel to pray for their fallen colleagues.

"I hope that these virtues will remain in our hearts to arm and guide us as we face the emerging challenges of the coming year," Albayalde said. —Joseph Tristan Roxas/KG, GMA News
