2 hit by stray bullets during New Year celebration
Two people were hurt after being hit by stray bullets at the height of the New Year festivities, GMA News' Darlene Cay reported on Unang Balita on Wednesday.
Rodolfo de Guzman, 63, one of the victims, was outside his house in San Carlos City in Pangasinan when he was hit by a stray bullet on his arm. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent operation to remove the bullet.
His relatives are asking for justice for the incident.
San Carlos City Police chief Police Superintendent Ferdinand de Asis said they will conduct an inquiry to identify the source of the bullet.
"Mag-conduct po kami ng inquiry within sa vicinity ng area kung saan nangyari yung insidente,” he said. “Lahat ng firearms owner na nasa listahan dito sa San Carlos ganun din sa Basista ay kakatukin natin. At possible, submit their firearms for examination.”
A woman in Iligan City was also hit by a stray bullet while eating with his grandchildren. At first, she thought it was a stone that hit her, but later she realized it was a bullet.
