Victims of firecracker injuries reach 236

The number of victims of firecracker injuries as Filipinos welcomed 2019 has reached 236, the Department of Health has said.

According to Tina Panganiban Perez's report on "24 Oras", the figure is less than half of the number of firecracker victims registered last year.

Eight lost their fingers while 41 others hurt their eyes.

Many of those who were injured were hurt by kwitis, luces, piccolo and five star, and the improvised explosive toy boga.

"Talagang pakaunti nang pakaunti. Pero unfortunately nga, meron pa rin talaga tayong mga tinatamaan," Health Undersecretary Eric Domingo said. —NB, GMA News
