Bersamin names new Supreme Court PIO chief
Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin has named lawyer Brian Keith Hosaka as the new chief of the Supreme Court's Public Information Office (PIO).
Hosaka is expected to eventually replace Court Administrator Jose Midas Marquez as SC spokesperson, but spokesman duties will remain with Marquez for the time being for a "smoother transition," the PIO announced, quoting Bersamin, on Monday.
The new SC PIO chief has the rank of Assistant Court Administrator.
An Ateneo de Manila University alumnus, Hosaka was founding partner of the Paner Hosaka & Ypil Attorneys-At-Law and deputy general counsel of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. Victorias Milling Company Inc., a sugar company, lists Hosaka as a director.
Hosaka and Marquez had previously worked together as law clerks in the office of now-retired Justice Josue Bellosillo, the SC PIO said.
"Brian Hosaka is not a newcomer. He served in the Court before under (Ret.) Justice Josue Bellosillo. So let us all support him,” Bersamin said during Monday's flag ceremony.
