There are no records by the University of the Philippines Diliman Registrar that indicate that Ilocos Norte Gov. Imee Marcos graduated from the school.
In a response from UP's Office of the President to a query by GMA Network, executive vice president Teodoro Herbosa said "Ms Marcos took non degree courses (courses without credit) in the College of Arts and Sciences University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) during academic year 1976-77."
"Thereafter she undertook courses under the Bachelor of Laws program at the UP College of Law from 1st semester 1979 to 2nd Semester 1983," the university added.
"There is no record of her graduation from UPD nor any honors or academic distinctions received with the University Registrar's office."
The university's statement comes a couple of days after Marcos' offical Facebook page posted pictures of her supposedly attending the UP College of Law Graduation in 1983 where her parents, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos and former First Lady Imelda Marcos, supposedly pinned her cum laude medal.
GMA News Online has contacted Marcos for comment but has yet to receive a reply as of posting time. —JST/KG, GMA News
