20,000 jobs up for grabs at DOLE fair on 33rd EDSA-1 anniversary

Some 20,000 jobs are up for grabs at the jobs fair on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the EDSA People Power uprising on Monday, February 25.

In an advisory posted on its Facebook account, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said 50 participating employers and recruitment agencies will offer thousands of local and overseas jobs.

The event will be held on the 2nd Floor Activity Center of the Starmall located at the corner of EDSA-Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City.

Jobs local employers will offer include positions of steel-man, production machine operator, production workers, customer service representative, product promodizer, electrician, service crew, merchandiser, finishing mason, and plumbers, the DOLE said.

“In the same event, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration said 12,000 job orders will be offered by 15 participating recruitment agencies,” the Labor department said.

Some of the vacancies are for the positions of laborer, nurse (general), welder, pipefitter, carpenter, technician (electrical/mechanical), foreman, steelfixer , IT engineer, and waitress.

Possible countries of destination are the United States, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Germany, Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Turks and Caicos Island, Madagascar, Malta, Mauritius, Solomon Islands, South Korea, and Africa, the DOLE added.

Applicants are advised to prepare their resume or curriculum vitae (bring extra copies for multiple job applications); 2 x 2 ID pictures; certificate of employment for those formerly employed; diploma and/or transcript of records; and authenticated birth certificate. —LBG, GMA News
