Sara Duterte: Let voters decide on fate of May poll bets on narcolist
Davao Mayor Sara Duterte on Saturday said she would not refuse any request to raise the hands of candidates running in the upcoming May elections, even if — it would seem from a statement issued by her camp— these individuals are suspected of being involved in the drug trade.
Sara's camp came up with the pronouncement after photos began circulating of her with politicians — hands of whom she was supposedly raising — who recently got tagged by her father, President Rodrigo Duterte, in the "narcolist."
It was not immediately clear who among the implicated narcopoliticans took photos with the President's daughter.
"Mayor Inday Sara Duterte will never turn down politicians who would publicly request her to raise their hands," said the mayor's camp in the statement.
Her camp said she chose not to get hold of a copy of the list because "she would rather leave it to the voters to decide on the qualifications they look for in a candidate above and beyond what is required by law."
"Mayor Inday Sara believes that a vote for a candidate should be a personal decision based on a voter's perception and assessment of all the candidates," her camp added.
Sara recently made another controversial statement where she said that honesty should not be an issue in the coming elections. — MDM, GMA News
