Bets take two-day respite from campaigning on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday
As it was prohibited by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), candidates will take a two-day respite from campaigning on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday.
"It’s considered an election offense at maaaring patawan sila ng fine o kasuhan ng disqualification,” Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said on GMA’s “24 Oras.
Before the prohibited dates, several candidates still went around the country to court voters.
In Koronadal City were Jiggy Manicad, Imee Marcos and Cynthia Villar.
Attending a campaign rally in Tuguegarao were Sonny Angara, Ronald Dela Rosa, JV Ejercito, Bong Go, Dong Mangudadatu, Koko Pimentel and Francis Tolentino.
On Tuesday, Pia Cayetano campaigned in General Santos City, while Jinggoy Estrada held a motorcade in Quezon City.
On Monday, Bong Revilla visited Tagum City. Grace Poe was in Pagadian.
Allan Montano roamed around Caloocan City, Sonny Matula in Manila, larry gadon in Taguig City and Leody de Guzman in Paranaque.
Jonathan Baldevarona went to Maguindanao, Shariff Albani in Quezon, and Samira Gutoc in Pasay. —LDF, GMA News
