Comelec partial report: PNP members top Local Absentee Voting turnout so far
Ballots from members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) account for almost half of the Local Absentee Voting (LAV) accomplished ballots received by the Commission on Elections so far.
Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said that 1,364 out of the 2,816 ballots received as of May 2 are from the PNP ranks.

Ranking second in LAV participation are members of the Philippine Air Force with 468 ballots, while the Philippine Army placed third with 463.
The members of the media registered the fourth highest LAV turnout with 332, followed by Comelec employees with 130.
The rest of those who availed of the LAV were from the Department of Education and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.
The LAV period was from April 29 to May 1, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The LAV is for government officials and employees, as well as the police and military and members of the media who will be deployed somewhere else on election day as part of their job and thus would not be able to cast their vote in their respective polling precinct.
The LAV, however, is limited to casting votes for national positions, meaning for 12 Senators and a party-list representative ,since 2019 is a midterm election.
The Comelec approved a total of 34,693 total applications for LAV. — BM, GMA News
