GMA Network mounts most comprehensive and state-of-the-art Eleksyon 2019 coverage


 

The Philippines’ most awarded and most trusted broadcast news organization, GMA News and Public Affairs, mounts the most comprehensive and state-of-the art reportage of the Midterm Elections in “Eleksyon 2019: The GMA News and Public Affairs Special Coverage."

On air, the election coverage begins at 4:30 a.m. on May 13 and will carry on until the following day at 10 am.

Leading the Eleksyon 2019 special coverage are GMA News pillars Mel Tiangco, Mike Enriquez, Vicky Morales, Arnold Clavio, Howie Severino, and Jessica Soho. Joining them are anchors Pia Arcangel, Ivan Mayrina, Rhea Santos, Connie Sison, and Atom Araullo together with the most reliable team of journalists and stringers here and abroad who will deliver election-related news and developments live and straight from the field, as the events unfold.

Working with 40 election coverage partners all over the country—including GMA’s flagship AM radio station Super Radyo DZBB 594khz, Dobol B sa News TV, Barangay LS FM, RGMA Network, Inc., GMA Regional TV, and Catholic Media Network (CMN)—the GMA News and Public Affairs teams are strategically positioned nationwide to cover the conduct of elections, as well as report on some colorful local races and the most critical hotspots.

GMA News also unveils this Election Day its brand new 360-degree news set, featuring two Barco video walls, LED floor, LED video wall, and nine LFD monitors—all powered by the latest technology and equipment from world leaders in media technology. Eleksyon 2019 also features augmented reality executions illustrating election-related content. GMA Network allocated P63 million solely for the acquisition of the said state-of-the-art equipment and technology to provide more engaging and compelling content for today’s viewers.

Meanwhile, providing insights and analyses during this national event are experts and resource persons to help the public make sense of the political landscape and the significance of this elections on key national issues.

And as soon as voting closes and election returns are transmitted, viewers can expect Eleksyon 2019 to deliver the latest partial and unofficial results of both national and local elections.

Netizens can also catch the live stream of GMA News and Public Affairs’ coverage, including up-to-the minute election results, through GMA News Online’s Eleksyon 2019 website (www.gmanews.tv/Eleksyon2019).

Prior to Election Day, information and tools to help voters choose the right candidate have been made available by GMA News Online. These include the MyKodigo app, which allows users to create sample ballots that they can print out and bring to their respective voting precincts, and the Stand on Issues app, which allows users to check the position of senatorial candidates on 11 key issues.
