Ex-VP Binay's ballot rejected by VCM in Makati precinct
Former Vice President Jejomar Binay on Monday complained that his ballot was rejected by a vote counting machine at a precinct in Makati City.
Binay, who is running for a House seat in Makati's first district, said his ballot when given to him at the San Antonio National High School had black spots.
The VCM rejected his ballot for being "marked."
"'Yung sa akin talagang may tinta. 'Yung sa imprenta talaga. Marked," he told reporters.
"Merong indications na talagang mare-reject... 'Yung balota niya may mga itim. Nadumihan 'yon," Binay added.
"Bale ba naman, dapat naman 'yon nu'ng ibinigay, I suppose tinitingnan nila 'yon, bakit hindi nila ka'gad sinabi na marked 'yon?" he said.
Binay's ballot was rejected after being inserted a number of times in the VCM.
"Ayaw nga, wala na, wala na ako, kaya ako magrereklamo," he said.
Binay said he will go to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to file a complaint.
"Pupunta ako sa Comelec. Bakit dini-disenfranchise niyo ako?" he added.
Binay refused to say if this could be a form of cheating, but only said, "Hintay mo na lang ang resulta ng imbestigasyon."
"If you multiply that kind of incident, then you know already," Binay said. "Apparently mangyayari. Dalawang magkasunod kami. Dalawang boto kami. Sa bahay pa namin din ngayon."
Binay's children, incumbent Mayor Abigail and former mayor Junjun, are both running for the mayoralty post in Makati City. —KG, GMA News
