The Philippine Military Academy Alumni Association, Inc. is considering to file cases against radio broadcaster Erwin Tulfo after he issued "degrading remarks" against Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rolando Bautista.

Colonel Noel Detoyato, Armed Forces of the Philippines public affairs chief, confirmed to GMA News Online on Friday that some sectors are recommending to file the cases before the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

"That is already being considered and planned by the legal team of DSWD Secretary and it is the prerogative of the aggrieved party," Detoyato said in a text message.

In a separate statement, the PMAAAI denounced the words, actions and degrading remarks of Tulfo against Bautista, a former commanding general of the Philippine Army.

"Soldiers, active and retired, and honorary members will continue to stand by the Honorable Secretary whom Mr. Tulfo berated and dishonored publicly through his radio program, 'Tutok Tulfo,'" the PMAAAI said.

"It is not right to use such crude and offensive words against Secretary Bautista. Clearly, this is not a characteristic of responsible and credible journalism," it added.

Earlier reports said Tulfo berated Bautista after the latter supposedly failed to grant him an interview.

"Eh kung ako nahihirapan ako magkaroon ng access sayo, eh pano pa ang mahihirap? Sige nga, saguitn mo, punyeta ka.  Putragis ka isa ka pang heneral ka na walang kwenta.  Ewan ko ba kung bakit nalagay ka ng Pangulo dyan, buang ka," Tulfo said in his program over state-run Radyo Pilipinas early this week.

"Mr. President sibakin mo na itong demonyo na ito, Sec. Rolando Bautista, inutil pa sa lahat ng inutil," he added.—LDF, GMA News
