The 45-year-old suspect wanted for the massacre of his own family in Cavite province over the weekend was arrested in Quezon City Monday night. Radio dzBB reported Tuesday morning that the Quezon City police's Criminal Investigation Unit now has custody of Cecilio Mangalino who was tagged in the massacre of his pregnant wife, young daughter and mother-in-law in Tanza town Sunday evening. The report said the suspect was tracked down in Quezon City where he sought refuge in a sibling’s the house after the massacre. Killed were Mangalino's wife Florinda, 37; her mother Luz Perea, 50; and the Mangalino couple's eight-year-old daughter. The suspect’s two other daughters, aged 12 and three, were seriously wounded. Initial investigation showed that the suspect came home from a drinking spree when he got into a heated argument with his wife. Neighbors heard noises from the suspect's house but were too scared to investigate at the time. Tanza is a first-class town with a population of 110,517 people in 23,059 households. - GMANews.TV
