At least 200 government officials have been subjected to a lifestyle check by the anti-corruption agency formed by President Rodrigo Duterte.

These officials are currently assigned at the Bureau of Customs, Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the Bureau of Internal Revenue, Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC) Commissioner Greco Belgica said on Wednesday.

The PACC is also conducting lifestyle check on officials of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office amid allegations of corruption.

He said officials from the Department of Transportation had volunteered to go through the process.

Belgica said the lifestyle investigations will be finished within the year.

“We will file cases, we will make it go through the process and at the same time, we will recognize and acknowledge offices and agencies that are really working very hard and meeting the target of the President for us to give a better/comfortable life for our people,” he said at a news conference in Malacañang. —NB, GMA News
