Senator Leila de Lima has returned to Camp Crame after visiting her ailing mother in Iriga City, Camarines Sur on Thursday, Olan Bala reported on super Radyo's dzBB.

De Lima filed a petition for a furlough to visit her mother, 86-year-old Norma who is in critical condition.

The petition was granted by two Muntinlupa judges, allowing her to go to Iriga from Aug. 14 to 15, including travel time, and return to the Philippine National Police Custodial Center, where she is being detained, by Aug. 16.

De Lima, however, was barred from giving interviews.

The senator is on trial for charges of conspiracy to commit illegal drug trading inside the New Bilibid Prison when she was secretary of the Department of Justice. — BAP, GMA News
