Four days after "hosting" a six-hour standoff led by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, The Peninsula hotel in Makati City declared itself "fully operational" at noon Monday. A statement posted on the hotel's website said the hotel has resumed normal operations. In fact, visitors to the website could now place online reservations for rooms. "The Peninsula Manila is now open and fully operational, and The Peninsula's management and staff look forward to welcoming guests and patrons once again," the hotel said in its statement. Earlier, dzBB radio reported that workers rushed to prepare the hotel to receive guests. The hotel management said they would formally reopen at 3 p.m. Monday. As this developed, hotel spokesman Manuel Garchitorena said the hotel management will announce when it formally opens at 3 p.m. Monday who it will sue for damages incurred during Thursday's incident. Garchitorena noted that the hotel was losing some P5 million for every day it was closed. Earlier in the day, Garchitorena and employees posed for photos at the hotel. On Thursday, hotel management decided to close the hotel after the hotel sustained damage from the forced entry of government troops assaulting the group of Trillanes and Lim. - GMANews.TV
