Palace: Let All Souls Day remind us to do good, be force of change in society
Malacañang on Saturday urged Filipinos to let All Souls Day serve as reminder to do good and be the force of change in society.
"All Souls Day likewise reminds us how fleeting life is and how short time is. It is thus a good reminder to everyone, regardless of one's status in life, to put meaning to their existence and to the time they spent whilst living. Let us henceforth do good, kindness, compassion, and forgiving. Let us be the force of change we want to see in society. Let us love one another and spread love," presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo said in a statement.
All Souls Day is celebrated on November 2, while All Saints Day is observed on November 1. Both were declared non-working holidays to allow Filipinos to remember their departed loved ones and visit cemeteries.

"We join the Catholic faithfuls in observing All Souls Day, November 2," Panelo said.
"As we take time to remember our dearly departed and reminisce many happy memories with them, this occasion is an opportune time to offer our solemn prayer to loved ones who joined our Creator and to continue seeking their protection and guidance," he added.
"The Palace wishes everyone a peaceful and meaningful observance," Panelo said.
The Philippine National Police on Friday deemed the observance of All Saints Day across the country as generally peaceful and orderly. —KG, GMA News
