Robredo to ICAD officials: Wala na tayong time para magpaligsahan
Vice President and Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs (ICAD) co-chair Leni Robredo on Sunday told officials of the anti-drug committee that they have no more time for competition.
During her weekly radio program, Robredo made the statement responding to the alleged ‘resentment’ of some officials of the ICAD towards her.
“Wala na tayong time para magpaligsahan. Lagi kong inuulit, two and a half years na lang, sasayangin pa ba natin sa paligsahan?” the ICAD co-chair said.
For Robredo, being called as the drug czar is not fitting because of some ICAD officials from different member agencies that are allegedly not cooperating with her, despite the order of President Rodrigo Duterte to work side by side.
Recently, Robredo asked for a copy of the list of high-value drug personalities. However, her co-chair in ICAD and chief of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Aaron Aquino set some conditions.
Aquino noted that the list is considered classified information and that not everybody could have a copy of it.
But Robredo emphasized that she needs the list since the primary task of being an ICAD chair is “to ensure the arrest of high-value drug personalities.”
The vice president said she has been writing reports to Duterte, who appointed her, and she included this issue in her recommendations. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA News
