Go faults Robredo for zero drug lords killed in her 19 days in ICAD
Senator Christopher “Bong” Go on Monday faulted Vice President Leni Robredo for the lack of drug lord deaths during her three-week stint as Inter-Agency Committee Against Illegal Drugs (ICAD) co-chair.
He claimed that all Robredo did was talk.
Asked how many drug lords were killed in the three years of the Duterte administration, Go said he does not know because he does not keep count.
“Hindi naman kami nagpapatay sa kanila so hindi ko binibilang,” he said.
'Kailangan...patayin mo'
Go also claimed that the death of drug suspects is necessary in the campaign against illegal drugs.
Asked why no drug lord were killed during Robredo's stint, Go expressed the belief that the police knew she would not back them up.
“Siguro walang gustong pumatay. Takot sila kasi walang sumusuporta sa kanila. Si Pangulong Duterte basta trabaho susuportahan ka n’yan, in line of duty kapag ginawa mo ang trabaho mo susuportahan ka ny’an. Kapag nakapatay ka ng drug lord o criminal hanggang sa huling araw ng kaso susuportahan ka n’yan pati sweldo mo,” he said.
Duterte fired Robredo as ICAD co-chair on Sunday, less than three weeks after he appointed her to the position. Malacañang claimed that the firing was in response to her "taunting and daring" the President by asking what the scope of her mandate was.
On the day Robredo was appointed to ICAD earlier this month, Go said without basis that she probably wants drug lords to multiply. Kung takot ka patayin eh di dadami ‘yan," he said. — BM, GMA News
