The construction worker who fell off scaffolding at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila had a fractured skull, Ian Cruz reported Tuesday on Balitanghali.

According to information provided by 46-year-old victim Richard Delos Santos' attending physician at the Ospital ng Maynila, Delos Santos was conscious but still under observation due to a blood clot in his head.

Responding police officers earlier reported that Delos Santos had hurt his leg in the fall.

Delos Santos' wife hoped that they would be provided with medical assistance, given that her husband was classified as a "volunteer worker."

Delos Santos said that he was not an employee of the contractor hired for the stadium renovation.

Rather, he was one of the 27 workers from the Department of Public Works and Highways who were originally based in Sta. Mesa, Manila but were transferred to the sports venue on Sunday as extra hands to dismantle the scaffolding around the stadium.

The worker said that he was sleep-deprived when he fell.
