Noynoy Aquino discharged from hospital after nine days

Former President Noynoy Aquino has been discharged from the Makati Medical Center after a comprehensive check-up, a spokesperson said on Tuesday.

Aquino left the hospital nine days after he was confined on December 9.

"Happy to report that Former President Noynoy Aquino has been discharged from the hospital today," Aquino's spokesperson Abigail Valte said in a text message

"He thanks everyone who sent prayers and well-wishes," she added.

Valte, however, would not give details as regards Aquino's confinement at the hospital.

"I will defer to the former president on the details," Valte said.

Valte on December 9 said Aquino went in for a check up at the Makati hospital. She denied reports that he suffered a heart attack.

She said the following day that Aquino was initially confined at the intensive care unit but only as a courtesy. He was later transferred to a regular room at his request. —NB, GMA News
