Manila gov’t heightens security in Divisoria amid holiday rush

Despite previous road clearing efforts by the Manila City government, Divisoria remains as busy as ever days ahead of Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Manila City Administrator Felixberto Espiritu said they have allowed vendors to use roads that are not main thoroughfares.

Espiritu added that buyers can now enjoy peace of mind while roaming around the busy shopping district, thanks to heightened security.

“Ang mga pulis natin at ating mga barangay officials ay nakakalat 24 hours a day upang sa gayon ay maprotektahan sila. Patuloy kayong mag-enjoy ng inyong Pasko mamili kayo sa Divisoria,” he said.
