Rizal's supreme sacrifice is PNP's inspiration —Gamboa
As the country commemorates the 123rd death anniversary of national hero Jose Rizal, the Philippine National Police (PNP) underscored that the former’s noble deeds have served as an inspiration to all cops in the performance of their duties for all Filipinos.
In his message on Monday, PNP officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa said the police organization is joining the whole country in paying tribute to Rizal’s act of sacrificing his own life for the Filipinos to attain freedom during the Spanish rule.
“Rizal took the opportunity to die a meaningful death and awaken the nation to rise from bondage,” he added.
According to Gamboa, the men and women of the PNP derive inspiration from Rizal's supreme sacrifice that they too shall be honored to offer their lives for the country.
A wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the monument of Rizal to honor the Filipino hero’s sacrifices for the country.
