Gamboa designates new PNP human rights chief
Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa has designated a new chief for the PNP Human Rights Affairs Office (HRAO).
According to PNP spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac on Tuesday, Police Brigadier General Ildebrandi Usana, erstwhile acting regional director and deputy regional director for administration of Police Regional Office 7, is the new HRAO chief. His new post took effect on January 13.
Banac said Usana, who belongs to Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1988, would oversee the police's policies and responses to the requirements of due process and the rule of law in police operations.
Meanwhile, Police Brigadier General Domingo Cabillan, former deputy regional director for administration of Police Regional Office 11, was named as the new deputy regional director for administration for Police Regional Office 7.
Other police officials who assumed new posts are the following:
- Police Colonel Alessandro Abella (PNPA Class of 1989) - Acting Chief, Women and Children Protection Center;
- Police Colonel Armando De Leon (PMA Class of 1991) - Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PRO 11; and
- Police Colonel Jimmy Catanes (PNPA Class of 1989 - Acting Regional Director for Regional Internal Affairs Service 3
