Duterte condoles with family of former police general Villaroman
President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday personally conveyed his condolences to the family of the late retired police general Francisco Villaroman in Davao City.
Accompanied by Senator Christopher "Bong" Go, Duterte went to the wake for Villaroman at the Davao Cosmopolitan Memorial Chapel on Friday night.
Villaroman was Duterte's security and anti-terrorism consultant, Malacañang said in a press release issued Saturday.
He died on Tuesday at the age of 64 after battling colon cancer.
A one-star police general, Villaroman was also regional director of the Philippine National Police from 2010 to 2011, and was chief of the Davao City Public Safety and Command Center from 2013 to 2016.
Villaroman also served as Cagayan Valley regional police director and chief of the Manila Police District.
The Palace said he also founded the Black Mace 79 Security Agency Inc. and Voltron 79 Security Agency Inc. —KG, GMA News
