Duterte one-on-one with Panelo postponed due to ‘pressing matters’

A one-on-one interview between presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo and President Rodrigo Duterte that had been scheduled to take place on Wednesday afternoon has been postponed to January 28, Malacañang said.

Panelo and Duterte’s second live one-on-one interview was supposed to begin at 5:30 p.m. in the presidential palace, but has been canceled due to “pressing matters,” according to an advisory released by Panelo’s office.

“[Duterte] didn’t elaborate what [the] pressing matters are,” said Panelo.

In September 2018, Panelo interviewed Duterte on issues ranging from an alleged ouster plot against him, the revocation of amnesty granted to former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, inflation, and martial law in Mindanao.
