PGH debuts 24/7 COVID Bayanihan Operations Center hotline

The University of the Philippines Manila-Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH) on Monday launched a dedicated 24/7 hotline number for its Bayanihan Operations Center that covers cases related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The hotline service -- 155200 -- is a joint effort with PLDT Enterprise Business Group which will operate 24 hours daily and can accommodate 20 simultaneous calls at a time.

Through the service, the public will be able to call and consult with professionals regarding the symptoms they are experiencing and thus manage the influx of patients to the COVID health care center.

"Upang magsilbing sentro na tagapag-ugnay ng ating sama-samang pagkilos, inilulunsad po natin ngayong umaga ang UP-PGH COVID19 operations center," said University of the Philippines president Atty. Danilo Concepcion.

"We look forward to working even more closely with you and providing innovative communication tools that will help you become even more effective in caring for our people in these very difficult times," added PLDT chairman and CEO Manuel Pangilinan.

As of Sunday, March 29, 2020, the Philippines had a total of 1,418 confirmed cases of COVID 19 -- 42 of whom have since recovered, while 71 had died. — DVM, GMA News
