Andanar limits cross-posting on PCOO’s social media platforms
Secretary Martin Andanar on Monday issued guidelines on cross-posting on social media platforms of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO).
Andanar cited the need for “content consistency” in his department order, which came after the agency distanced itself from the post shared over the weekend on its Facebook page, which contained false information on ABS-CBN's franchise woes.
The Cabinet official said cross-posting shall be “strictly limited” to the live streaming of news briefings and events of the following:
- the President
- Presidential Spokesperson
- Chief Presidential Legal Counsel
- PCOO Secretary
- Members of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases
- Major primetime news and public affairs programs of PTV, Radyo Pilipinas and the Philippine News Agency
The Radio Television Malacañang will continue to manage the cross-posting activities, according to Andanar.
In a statement, Andanar said the PCOO has already identified the person “accountable” for sharing the “contentious” Facebook post.
“With the identification of the individual accountable for uploading and sending of the contentious Facebook post, our office deems an investigation into the matter unnecessary. A memorandum is scheduled to be sent within the day asking the individual for an explanation, after which the proper action will be taken by the PCOO,” he said.
Andanar added that the PCOO will “uphold accountability on matters like this in order to minimize such unfortunate instances from happening again in the future.” --Virgil Lopez/KBK/BM, GMA News
