Duterte, IATF members strike a pose during meeting

President Rodrigo Duterte met with members of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to discuss whether or not to lift the enhanced community quarantine in Metro Manila and other areas.

An announcement is expected on Tuesday morning on the action the government will take as part of continued efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Earlier, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said the COVID-19 transmission rate, capacity of the healthcare system and the economy would help the government in deciding whether to ease restrictions in some areas in Metro Manila, where the majority of the infections in the country were recorded. -- BAP, GMA News
