The Philippine National Police is now comparing its report with that of Ayala Land Inc’s findings on the explosion at the Glorietta 2 shopping mall in Makati City, according to PNP chief Dir. Gen. Avelino Razon Jr. “Merong request ang Ayala Land na tingnan namin ang kanilang findings, kaya ating hindi muna sinubmit ang final report (Ayala Land made a request that we at least look at their findings. That’s one reason we did not submit our final report)," Razon said on Saturday over government-run dzRB. He also said Interior Secretary Ronaldo Puno instructed the police to thoroughly study their findings to make sure that their case would be airtight, including the list of those who might be charged for the October 19 blast. Investigators found that a gas explosion was the likely cause of the blast, but Ayala Land contested the findings of a gas buildup. Razon reiterated that there was no attempt at coverup during the delay in the disclosure of the PNP’s findings over the blast, which killed 11 people, and injured over a hundred others. “Pinag-utos ni Sec. Puno na rebisahin mabuti ang report na ito, so it will stand the test of scrutiny, criticism at iba pang doubts (Puno ordered us to make the needed revisions so it will stand the test of scrutiny, criticism and doubts)," he said. The Department of Interior and Local Government, which supervises the PNP, said it would come out with its report on the incident by Wednesday, but it backed out at the last minute. - GMANews.TV
