Authorities in Malabon intercept haul of dynamite fishermen

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel at the Malabon fish port on Wednesday night seized some 53 boxes of fish caught illegally with the use of dynamite, GMANews.TV learned Thursday. The PCG confiscated the haul from the vessel M/V Andrea, which had docked at the port. The fish apparently came from Palawan, authorites said. "We confirmed the fish were caught through dynamiting when we sliced open some of the fish and found the innards were blasted," GMA 7's DZBB quoted PCG officials as saying. The operation was carried out by the Coast Guard and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources. Authorities did not immediately report any arrest following the incident.-GMANews.TV
