"Effective immediately, the above barriers between motorcycle driver and passengers are hereby approved," Lorenzana said in a message to reporters as he also showed the design of Angkas.

Lorenzana, who is also the chairman of the National Task Force on COVID-19, reiterated that back-riding is only allowed among married couples, common-law couples and live-in partners.
Back-riding on motorcycles among couples and partners has been allowed beginning July 10, provided that they put a barrier between the rider and the passenger which serves as an additional "safety net" to prevent COVID-19 transmission.
The design initially approved was from the Bohol provincial government. — RSJ, GMA News
