Eleazar named PNP's No.2 man
A movement in the Philippine National Police leadership was implemented following the designation of Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan as chief of the police force.
Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar was named as the PNP Deputy Chief for Administration while Police Lieutenant General Cesar Hawthorne Binag was named the PNP Deputy chief for Operations.
PNP spokesman Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac said this followed the rule of succession by seniority in the police organization.
Banac also said Eleazar would remain as the commander of the Joint Task Force COVID Shield while Binag would lead the Administrative Support to COVID Operations Task Force (ASCOTF).
On the other hand, Police Major General Joselito Vera Cruz was designated as the Chief Directorial Staff.
Other new assignments of police officers include the following:
- Police Major General Gilberto Cruz – Director, PNPA
- Police Major General Emmanuel Luis Licup – Director for Comptrollership
- Police Brigadier General Alfred Corpus – Acting Director for Operations
- Police Brigadier General Rolando Hinanay – Acting Director for Personnel and Records Management
- Police Major General Jose Chiquito Malayo – Director for Integrated Police Operations-Northern Luzon
- Police Major General Marni Marcos Jr – reassigned to OCPNP
- Police Brigadier General Bartolome Bustamante – Regional Director, PRO5
- Police Brigadier General Steve Ludan – Director, Crime Laboratory
The new designations take effect Thursday, September 3.
