Vendors want more time to move out of razed Baclaran mall
Vendors near a shopping mall gutted by a 30-hour fire in Baclaran last week asked Pasay City Mayor Wenceslao Trinidad on Tuesday to extend his Friday "deadline" for their relocation. Radio dzBB reported that the vendors, who set up stalls near the Galleria Baclaran shopping mall and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Baclaran station as soon as the fire has been put out, argued they were not given an alternative site. According to the vendors, they have to look for a relocation site where they could sell their wares before they can move out of the area. Trinidad had ordered the vendors to leave the area by Friday, noting that the structure of the burned shopping mall may crumble or collapse at any time. Last week, a 30-hour fire believed caused by an air-conditioning unit left on overnight destroyed the mall and disrupted business in nearby establishments, including the LRT. - GMANews.TV
