Hotels in GCQ, MGCQ areas allowed to operate at full capacity

The government has allowed hotels in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified genera community quarantine (MGCQ) to operate at full capacity.

A report on Unang Balita on Thursday quoted Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat as saying that this is still up to the decision of hotel administrators and the establishment's capability to follow safety guidelines.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) is set to issue guidelines on the expanded operational capacity of hotels.

The DOT has earlier said hotels and other tourism establishments must secure a certificate of authority to operate for staycations in GCQ areas. —KBK, GMA News
