Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan on Thursday said the molecular laboratory at the PNP General Hospital can now start its operations.

Cascolan told reporters that the Department of Health has already given the molecular laboratory inside Camp Crame a license to operate.

A total of 90 COVID-19 tests can be accommodated on a daily basis, according to Cascolan. He said it could increase up to 150 tests.

This move aims to provide quality health care services among its personnel amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far, the PNP has 7,097 COVID-19 cases, with 6,523 recoveries and 22 fatalities.

The number of active cases is at 543.—AOL, GMA News
