‘Tamad’ ringtone mulled to alert PNP officers of overdue cases
The Philippine National Police-Internal Affairs Service plans to install a uniform "tamad" alert tone on its officers' cellphones to alert them of overdue cases that need to be resolved.
During a hearing of the Senate public order and dangerous drugs committee, PNP-IAS chief Alfegar Triambulo said the same mechanism is currently being used in the computers of their officers.
Tuwing mag-open siya [ng computer]," he said.
Sasabihin, 'Tamad, tamad, tamad.' Kaya mahiya siya," he added.
Senator Ronald Bato Dela Rosa, chair of the panel conducting the hearing on implementing reforms in the PNP-IAS, commended Triambulo for the project.
"Maganda 'yung best practices ninyo, 'Tamad, tamad, tamad.' Very good," Dela Rosa, a former PNP chief, said.
Under the Republic Act 8551, the IAS was mandated to conduct inspections and audits on PNP personnel and units; investigate complaints and gather evidence in support of an open investigation; and conduct summary hearings on PNP members facing administrative charges, among others.
