Adnan Alonto, a nephew, said Princess Tarhata was "the Iron Lady who governed the province with compassion and unmatched dedication with only the best interest of the people at heart."

"She was also a loving, protective and caring aunt who had gone to great lengths to tend for the needs of her nephews, nieces, and other relatives," Alonto said.

"She will always be remembered for her fierce commitment to serving peace, humanity, progress and as one who broke the glass ceiling for Filipino women venturing into what used to be an exclusively men’s domain," he added. -NB, GMA News
