Almost 15,000 of the military's frontline personnel have already been inoculated against COVID-19, according to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Friday.
The military has made it mandatory for its personnel to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to the AFP, it has transported 39,000 vials of vaccines to military treatment facilities (MTFs) and inoculated 14,969 front line personnel as of March 11.
The AFP said 16 MTFs in Luzon were able to receive 30,600 vials of the CoronaVac vaccines as of Friday. A total of 13,555 personnel have so far been vaccinated in Luzon.
In the Visayas, 4,200 vials were delivered in five MTFs with 684 frontline personnel already vaccinated, the AFP said.
Six MTFs in Mindanao, meanwhile, received 4,200 doses with 730 personnel vaccinated.
All in all, the total number of frontline military personnel vaccinated against COVID-19 so far is 14,969.
The vaccines used in the vaccination are part of the 600,000 Sinovac doses donated by the Chinese government to the Philippines, from which 100,000 are for the military. —KBK, GMA News
