The Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) on Black Saturday announced that its emergency room is already at 200 percent capacity while its COVID-19 wards are operating at 100 percent capacity.

"We are currently not accepting walk-in and uncoordinated transfer of COVID-19 patients as well as elective surgical and non-emergency medical non-COVID patients," the LCP said in an advisory.

The hospital posted contact numbers for COVID-19 and non-COVID-19 consultations.

Several individuals are already being refused admission at the LCP due to a lack of vacancies.

In a 24 Oras report by Raffy Tima on Friday, Dr. Edison De Vera said beds only became available when a patient dies or when they are discharged.

Lung Center spokesperson Dr. Norberto Francisco said he feared that the health system might collapse. -MDM, GMA News
