The Bureau of Customs (BOC), Manila International Container Port and the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service on Wednesday apprehended three alleged smuggled vehicles worth P20 million.
In a statement, the BOC said the shipment, which was declared as used truck parts, was consigned to JLFDM Consumer Goods Trading from Japan.
During the inspection, the raiding team found 33 bales of ukay-ukay concealed with the three vehicles -- one Ferrari F430 Scuderia, one Mercedes Benz SLK 55 AMG, and one Mercedes Benz E220.
The BOC issued a warrant of seizure and detention against the shipment for possible violation of Republic Act 10863 or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
