Palace says Duterte in good health after podium slip

Malacañang assured the public on Monday that President Rodrigo Duterte was in the pink of health after the Chief Executive slipped from the podium during an Independence Day event last June 12.

“It was a simple misstep. The President was turning on the podium,” presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said.

“Medyo na out of balance lang po, wala pong problema sa kalusugan,” he added.

(The President was momentarily out-of-balance, rest assured his health is fine.)

Saturday’s Independence Day celebrations marked only the second time that the President was physically present during an Independence day commemoration since he became President last June 30, 2016.

The Constitution mandates the sitting President to disclose his health condition if he or she has a serious illness. — DVM, GMA News
